Andrew wakes up with a celebrity hangover, and gets ever closer to his target. Today he tackles a huge hill, a huge amount of Chinese food and overcomes the emotion of the astronomic task that he is on the verge of completing. We decide to opt for the relative luxury of an actual campsite, complete with shower block, and end the night with the main man admitting his love for another famous face.
Who would have thought that running in the opposite direction on the A68 would be comic genius, Eddie Izzard. Not only did he stop for a chat, he took shelter in the support camper van for quick brew and an exchange of stories from the road. His camera crew were on the scene and the footage may be included as part of Sport Relief next March. For those who can’t wait that long, our interview with Eddie is included in tonights episode.

Two days in one! Partly because Day 20 was a slow day and nothing much happened, and also because we could not get 3g anywhere! What we did get though over these two days, were some fabulous views, some dedicated running and much tomfoolery from Ian and I. So grab a cup of tea, eat some cake (thats what I do most of the time) and watch our latest video. Enjoy!
Today was an eclectic mix of a day. We met a herd of lovely cows, fundraised particularly well and then ate curry. In between all the fun and frolicking, I did some running too. Gradually I am getting closer to the hallowed turf of Edinburgh! Admittedly it is now becoming hugely hard and I am not running as much as I was before, but at least I am still running and still getting closer to the end.
We also filmed me doing a live radio interview on the video today! fun times!
Today’s video is almost exclusively filmed in Newcastle. We get the van fixed, meet some thugs - sorry Joey Barton - and ate and drank lots. It also marked the departure of CVS and the first full day of Harty’s support stretch. Most importantly, today was my last rest day; 5 full days of running to go until I finish my run and celebrate my 27th birthday! Woo!
“Andrew Dobie this is going to be the worst day of my entire life. That’s not a joke.” - Facebook status today says it all.
We knew it would get tough for Andrew but a late night again did not help matters. Probably not the best video we’ve done but it certainly captures the low morale in the camper. Things however started to look up as the day went on and of course Mr Hart joins the team after a very long bus journey.
A late night meant a tough day for Andrew. Cook along with Chris returns after popular demand and Andrew gives a sneak preview to his antics on Monday - get donating people so we can upload the video!
Northern abuse is now a thing of the past…today Andrew lays into the Spanish and Marks & Spencer! Chris rises to the challenge of becoming Master Chef but will Andrew like the goods…
Today was a day of rest and Andrew makes the most of it by having his legs waxed and playing with a hula-hoop - what a girl! Chris rejoins the team but after seeing Andrew’s legs, he wants to go home.
